Conveniently located in downtown Barrie, Ontario, Collier Place Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality housing for seniors age 60 and up who are able to live independently. Our 156-unit apartment building offers a wealth of amenities right in the building and public transportation at your doorstep to allow easy access to the local community.  As a Collier Place tenant, you'll continue to enjoy your independent lifestyle while being close to everything you need. Despite being in the city center, Collier Place maintains a peaceful, community-like atmosphere where you can relax and engage with fellow tenants.

We're proud to be a smoke-free property, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for all our tenants. Collier Place does not permit smoking in our apartments, on our balconies or on our property.  At Collier Place, we're committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging community that you can enjoy to the fullest.

Collier Place maintains lengthy waitlists for all of our apartments. We encourage individuals to submit their application to our waiting list several years before planning on moving in.

Rent Opportunities

At Collier Place, we are dedicated to providing  accessible and inclusive housing options. Our community offers both affordable and market rent opportunities designed to cater to a diverse range of individuals. 

For those seeking affordable rent, qualification is based on an annual income of less than $26,000. Meanwhile, our market rent option is open to all. 

Additionally, all our rents are inclusive of utilities such as heat, hydro, and water. Please note that parking at Collier Place is very limited, subject to availability and incurs an additional cost.

Market Rent

Collier Place offers low-end market rent. Please contact us for up-to-date information on our rental prices. The rent includes all utilities. These rents increase annually based on the provincial rent increase guidelines. Applicants must be at least 60 years of age to join this waiting list, there are no income or asset restrictions. Applicants can expect to wait 2-4 years for a market rent apartment. 

Affordable Rent

Collier Place offers an affordable rent program to those who qualify. Currently we are accepting applicants who have an annual income of $26,000 or less and no assets over $75,000. Please contact us for up-to-date information on our rental prices. This rent increases annually based on the provincial rent increase guidelines. Applicants must be at least 60 years of age to join the waiting list and can expect to wait between 5-10 years for an affordable rent apartment.
